Iron Man strikes a balance between reality and comic book-ness, that many that have come before it have failed to achieve. It stays as true to the source materia while still being its own beast. It has great action, humor and drama in all the right doses and at appropriate times. Iron Man proves you don't need to be bitten by radioactive spiders and born a genetic freak to have a summer blockbuster.
